Nate D. Sanders Auctions Has a Strong Reputation for a Reason

February 13, 2019
For more than three decades now, Nate D. Sanders has been busy honing a reputation as one of his industry's most respected memorabilia dealers and as one of the industry's best experts, as well. He has been a collector for more than 40 years, and by the late 1970s, Nate was already widely known in collectors' circles. By the time he established his auction house in Los Angeles in 1990, he already had a solid reputation as a straight dealer. Now, his auction House conducts monthly auctions that serve to draw bidders, collectors and investors from all over the world.

Its history is rather unique, as Nate D. Sanders Auctions was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1986 as "Nate's Autographs." For the most part, the initial focus of the company was on inexpensive Hollywood-focused signed photographs and other memorabilia, which were usually included in a mailed catalog, which went to a relatively few exclusive local clients. This modest beginning didn't last long, however, and in the several decades since, the company has moved to Los Angeles, California and done millions of dollars in business, meaning it has expanded greatly over the years.

When it came to auctioning off the iconic white t-shirt sported by Hollywood legend James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause” and the shotgun Hollywood icon Steve McQueen carried in "The Magnificent Seven," the owners of those items trusted Nate D. Sanders, based on his reputation as a specialist in Hollywood memorabilia. Likewise, when it came time to sell a watercolor and ink drawing of Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet by the illustrator of the Winnie-the-Pooh books, E.H. Shepard, the owners trusted Nate D. Sanders Auctions to conduct the auction online.
